Evening with Tesla CEO, Elon Musk: Future of Innovation
Last night I had the opportunity to volunteer at an event with Elon Musk, organized by Pando Daily, here in Los Angeles. I have always really admired Elon — whether it’s the Tony Stark like ingenuity or his down-to-earth modest (why be modest? he’s Iron Man in the flesh!); Elon could fit the “larger than life” bill pretty well. It was a pleasure to see him in-person and hear him speak about his experiences at PayPal, SpaceX, Tesla and SolarCity. He really has embraced the entrepreneurial spirit, “[sic] chewing on broken glass while staring into an empty abyss” and walked out on top. Having worked in various capacities in the startup scene, I see Elon as an immense inspiration. He is someone who has chewed that glass and survived. Yes, being an entrepreneur is about survival — and he survived.
In a very Elon fashion, he arrived in his beautiful black Tesla and left the event with a crowd of envious eyes. Good luck Elon.
I also got to meet some really cool peeps from Pando Daily, an online publication that follows the tech scene both up at Silicon Valley and here in Los Angeles (“Silicon Beach”). They’re doing a lot of cool work so check them. The event took place at Cross Campus, a growing incubator/collaborative space company.
